I am Tracy Thompson. I do all of the estate planning for the firm. Some attorneys think estate planning is boring, boring, boring. Not me. This is one of the most challenging and rewarding areas of my practice. I truly enjoy sitting down with people and discussing the inevitable: death! No one wants to leave a mess behind for their children or loved ones, but too many people do from lack of planning, procrastination, or just plain reluctance to admit our own mortality.
Come see me and I will quickly put you at ease, explain your options, and craft a will or trust-based estate plan that will accomplish your goals in the most effective manner. And maybe even save some taxes. You will leave my office with peace of mind and a sigh of relief that you finally got this taken care of.
When choosing an attorney to help you plan your estate, it is critical to pick someone with sufficient knowledge and experience to get the job done right the first time. I have been counseling families and individuals in West Michigan since 1994. I have drafted almost two thousand wills and trusts. I keep up to date on the law through my memberships in the State Bar of Michigan's Probate and Estate Planning Section, the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. I attend continuing education seminars regularly. I read several internet list servs comprised of attorneys who specialize in estate planning. In other words, I know this stuff.
- Living Trusts
- Financial/Legal Powers of Attorney
- Will Contests
- Second Marriages
